The 1st Pennsylvania Mountain Regiment is a volunteer organization rooted in the communities of Pennsylvania. Founded on the principles of service, preparedness, and mutual aid, our members come from all walks of life — united by a shared commitment to protecting and serving the families and communities of the Commonwealth.
We are apolitical and non-religious. We do not discriminate. Our only requirements are good character, a strong work ethic, and a genuine desire to serve.
To preserve and strengthen the family, the community, and the Commonwealth through civil defense operations, disaster relief, community service, and preparedness training — filling the gaps when public resources are stretched thin and our neighbors need help most.
Service before self. We show up not for recognition but because someone needs help. Integrity, discipline, and compassion guide everything we do — in training, in the field, and in our communities.
